Adventure and Eco-Tourism, Outdoor and Environmental Education are some of British Columbia's fastest-growing industries. They offer varied and exciting employment opportunities.
The Brooks Outdoor Adventure Tourism Training (BOATT) program has been developed to meet the needs of this generation of out door enthusiasts! We equip students with the necessary skills and certifications to find employment in the outdoor education, interpretation and eco-tourism industries. This program also offers students the opportunity to develop the two most sought after transferable skills employers are looking for – Leadership and real-life problem solving.
The Brooks Outdoor Adventure and eco-Tourism Training program is a full semester credit program that introduces students to the world of career possibilities within the outdoor environmental education, adventure and Eco-tourism industries. Taught by a team of industry leaders and experts, students will have opportunities to combine practical and theoretical learning while being immersed the natural beauty of the Powell River and Desolation Sound areas.

High school students in either Grade 11 or 12. Please inquire about spaces reserved for non-high school students.
Semester 2 (Feb - June) each year. Specialized summer programs are also available. Please inquire.
The program is based out of Brooks Senior Secondary High School in Powell River. Our classroom encompasses this entire beautiful region!

With a combination of work experience, hands-on training, cultural awareness and a variety of certifications, graduates of the BOATT Program will be qualified for entry-level employment within a wide range of Outdoor and Environmental Education, Adventure and Eco-Tourism businesses. Students will identify "next steps" to pursue further creer-related studies.
